Our Mission:
"We at State & Cabrillo believe in not only entertaining, but also in to enriching the lives of our viewers".
State & Cabrillo will continually produce quality film, but what we feel most important is our focus on the strength and longevity in the film industry. For our future we aim to gain the added capital and added financial resources to help support our local film community, and to provide opportunity to the eager young artists of our time, through internships and grant programs.
Our team will create film opportunity, but we’re also driven to share ourselves and our good fortune. Making film is a privilege and we want to share it with under privileged. In our near future we plan to develop a non-profit arm to State & Cabrillo Productions, which will allow us to help support cancer research and certain good causes such as Africa Foundation for AIDS, and the T.Y.M.E. Foundation. We want the achievements of State & Cabrillo to benefit everyone and we know that with integrity and a belief in quality, State & Cabrillo Productions will become and remain a profitable, respected power house in the film industry.
The team:
Sean Maurer, President
Mr. Maurer, originally from New York City, NY., is co-owner of a successful Hollywood based talent agency and serves as president of State & Cabrillo Productions. With ten years experience in the entertainment industry, he has developed extensive industry contacts and highly valued resources.
Gary Ortiz, Vice-President
Mr. Ortiz, originally from Santa Barbara, CA., serves as Vice-President of State & Cabrillo Productions. An accomplished writer with seven years industry experience, he has numerous scripts in pre-production and is currently working on his first action/comedy. As State & Cabrillo’s VP and project advisor, he maintains an acute business sense and will be closely involved in all of State & Cabrillo's productions.
Stuart Yee, Head of Production
Mr. Yee has been involved in film and television since 1990. He is highly experienced in all facets of the film industry and has had an opportunity to work with many highly regarded individuals, such as Holly Hunter, Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker, Don Johnson, Jennifer Garner, and numerous others. Mr. Yee has a business and economics degree from the University of San Francisco. He has excellent communication skills and brings both creative talent and business savvy to the State & Cabrillo production team.
A.K. Murtadha, Head of Development
With twenty years of experience working in front and behind the camera, Mr. Murtadha brings a keen business acumen, an acute eye for talent and an innate sense of quality storyline creation. He is a key part in the development of all State & Cabrillo's projects. Mr. Murtadha has a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, San Diego.
